MGL Vet

Members of the MGL... Lend me your ears.... Ummm... Eyes.

Speaking as the General Manager, for the Veterans, and most importantly the Owner & Commissioner of the MGL (Byron "B" LaFleur), we are committed to making sure that this league's long-gevity and relevance stays in-tact year in and year out of each Madden title. Our aim is to never compromise the integrity of our prized league, but at the same time, keeping this league enjoyable and as competitive as possible.
With this said, as you all know there has been much speculation, complication, and conversation about some specific topics around the MGL. And after some strenuous deliberation, we have come to a final and mutual decision. A decision that both benefits the MGL, as well as the members within. And they are as follows:

TEAM CAPTAINS

Each individual team owner is now allowed to pick 2 of the 3 Team Captains. We realize that as owners of our respective teams, we should be able to decide who key players are and are not. Keep in mind though: There are requirements!

  • Each Team Captain must be under the age of 32.

  • A Team Captain must be a player who is key to the success of your team.

  • Team Captains must also be an 85+ OVR Player

The Captains you decide to represent your team will need to be approved by The League Committee (Commish, R2J, Vexx, Legit, Zero, & Nate) or Commissioner himself. Your 3rd and final Team Captain will be assigned to you by the Commissioner (no appeals, no reconsiderations. It will be final.)

Your Team Captains need to be named by the 1st week of the Off-season (as soon as the progressions take place). If they are not posted, the Commissioner and Committee will assign ALL 3 Team Captains to you. Note: Once established your 3 Team Captains are BY NO MEANS "trade-able" for the entire season ahead. This system will continue every single season.

ROOKIES

With Peterson-Gate behind us, we have gone back and forth and come to a final decision regarding Rookies. From this point forward, 1st Round Rookies will need to have completed 2 full seasons with their 1st team, before becoming eligible for trades. And 2nd Round Rookies will need to have completed 1 full season with their team. No exceptions. We realize that most Madden Franchise Users are aware of what most rookies will eventually become seasons down the line, but some do not bother to look that deep into such players, therefore may not realize what sort of player they have on their roster. Which is why this rule is now in effect.
However, members have the ability to trade any rookie on draft day and immediately after. 24 hours after Draft, rookie trading will be closed.

We at MGL don't like the color gray. We are determined to avoid "gray areas". So, as long as there is a regulation on a specific matter, there will be no confusion or debate as to what the rules are or should be.

TRADES

On to the more gritty subject...
Trades.. It's fun. It helps keep interest in the league, and allows us to build our teams. Awesome. Right? Of course, but there are many pit falls that come along with trades. We have come to a unanimous decision regarding trades and they are as follows:

Trades will always be voted and based on fairness to all parties involved. But we are now adding a particular wrinkle to the voting process. If and ONLY IF we feel that a certain trade "compromises our league" (and if the involving member is un-proven in the league *), then the trade will be declined. If the trade involves Franchise type players of members that have proven their commitment and long gevity to this league, then it would make approving trades that much easier, as we know such members will not abandon the team and league. So! To clarify: New (or un-proven) members of the league are NOT allowed to trade Franchise type players

Now, there have also been questions as to how many trades a member can make.

  • New Members will be allowed 2 Off-season trades. And 1 IN-Season trade (before the Trade Deadline in Week 6).

  • Proven Members are allowed 3 Off-season trades. And 1 IN-Season trade (before the Trade Deadline in Week 6).

  • Veteran Members (those who have been with MGL since Madden 11) will be allowed 4 Off-season trades. And 1 IN-Season trade (before the Trade Deadline in Week 6).

Reminder: Trades have a limit of 3 players each party. If it involves more than 3 players on 1 side, it can be reviewed, but should NEVER be over the total of 6 players within the entire trade (unless it is a 3rd Party trade).

Footnote: * Un-proven members are new players that come into the league and have not completed a full season with the MGL. Un-Proven members will be held to a different standard their 1st year, because of the turnover our league and ALL Madden leagues witness through out any given Madden year. Teams become dismantled and destroyed by members who come into the league, take up a team, cut and/or trade players and just as quickly, drop out; making said team much much harder to fill in the future.

All questions should be placed on this board NOT THE CHAT BOX, that way everyone can view the questions & answers given.

We love you all. And have a great off-season and regular season. MGL FTW.

Yours truly, R2J
